Facoli has the fastest building system in the country, we can install 100 linear meters of wall (250m2) per day. This is the equivalent of the walls for one or two houses in just one day, depending on their size. In order to proceed with the installation, we require that the underfloor to be ready according to our requirements.
None. Given its unique structural design, Facoli does not require foundations. Moreover, it possesses the advantage that seismic loads on the structure are reduced considerably as there is no embedment at the base of the walls. Seismic stresses do not have any significant impact on the structure, given its low weight and flexibility.
We only require an underfloor 6 or 7cm tall, instead of the 10cm tall underfloor used in traditional building systems, which represents significant savings. Only under special conditions where the ground conditions represent a problem, it may me advised to increase the height of the underfloor slightly and steel reinforcement.
No, Facoli will deliver all junctures between walls duly filled in with our special cement mortars to guarantee the best finishes and a flat surface.
No, Facoli will plaster all walls with our fiberglass reinforced cement mortar to guarantee a flat surface.
Even though there is no need to fix the walls to the floor, since the box structure of the installed walls is what holds up the structure, Facoli anchors the wall to the underfloor with steel pins. Furthermore, the weight, friction and floor finishes stop the structure from moving. The roof and ceiling structures also provide a secondary level of rigidity, which further ensures the structure will not move.
No, contrary to other building systems Facoli’s wall structures function as a single beam by themselves. This is achieved by the junctions between the panels’ steel frames. On the top part of the wall a metal sill RT 0-16 (3in) is welded for the alignment of the walls and to function as a support for the roof.
All sanitary piping is installed in the conventional way, however drains for lavatories, faucets, and others do not go through the wall, they go straight to the ground.
All water pipes are installed using the conventional manner, however the connections between water pipes and toilets, lavatories, sinks, and similar are made vertically to the ground. The wall panels where the showers will be installed come ready with the necessary pipes inside. The client may decide to have cold and hot water pipes or just cold water pipes (for an electric shower). Below the walls made for showers a small section of the underfloor must be left without filling with concrete for the connection of the water pipes. Once the connections are made the underfloor may be finished.
Electrical installation is greatly simplified. All lines are installed above the ceiling and come down through the walls to the light switches or electric outlets through half an inch conduit tubes which are installed in the production phase of the panel. In cases that need a wider conduit tube than half an inch, the installation must be made through the underfloor. For example, for stoves and dryers.
Facoli is able to fit any type and brand of power outlet, light switch, TV outlet, phone outlet or doorbell with a maximum depth (in the wall) of 1 ¼ inches.
The openings in the walls for doors and windows are lined with a steel plate where wood frames can easily be screwed in. Frames should be made 1in x 3in and any material can be used (wood, aluminum, PVC).
Concrete is not waterproof, therefore exterior walls should be made waterproof by painting them with a high quality elastomeric paint with high elongation.
Facoli’s installation crews will properly align the inferior section of the walls, however the superior section’s alignment will be achieved once the metal sill and the roof structure is completed. The constructor should also make sure the vertical plumb of the walls is correct before installing the metal sill and roof structure.
